On July 15th we learned...

Baby Z 2.0 is a....

Baby boy Lane Michael is on track for his growth and all is well.

So over a month later this announcement has made the blog.  Ian was disappointed as he was wanting a baby sister. When we told him he asked if we could trade him in for a baby sister.  We were able to quickly change his attitude when asked if he wanted to have to play barbies and dolls or super hero's and football. He agreed having a team member on his super hero team would be a great idea.

still alive

Hello, hello, anyone out there?!?!

we still exist over here, somehow blogging time just doesn't happen like it use too. Upon looking back I realized that the majority of my posts were drafted and often completed while on break at work. Where I had zero distractions to devote time to the bloggy blog. Since work has closed I have a never ending to do list, note it's after 10p and I still have 5 loads of laundry to fold and a lunch to make. Also note I started laundry at 3:30a (yes that is a "a" for AM) and thanks to grocery stores (yes I go to more than 1, hey gotta stay under budget), errand running, cutting up all fruits and veggies purchased so they are ready for the week, entertaining a 3.5yr old, and taking care of other things around the house laundry and lunch making got put on the back burner until tonight. I promise I have posts they are all currently being stored in my pregnant brain which gets overloaded a lot quicker than it use too. I do know I have 2 posts drafted and 1 just needs some pics or something super simple yet hasn't been done. So, here's to putting blogging back on the to do list at least once a week (oy, that's a big commitment) looky there I have already have 1 post done for this week and it's only Monday!! Here's to a week of catching up and have some scheduled to go for the next couple of weeks. Off to match socks...

Night!

lately

Around here the weather has been PERFECT!! By perfect I mean it hasn't rained (I'm sure others don't like this), Mr Golden Sun has shown his beautiful self for the past 8 days meaning for the past 8 days Ian has been in the pool 8 of those days.

We have developed a little routine, we run our errands in the AM and home by lunch time we eat lunch outside and then it's in the pool till 4 as which we head in so I can start dinner. This always means nap time is no longer happening, and I can't believe I'm saying this as at one point for about 3yrs I hearted naptime with a passion.  Well, here's what happens if Ian sleeps for even a half hour during the day he is awake at night until midnight or later...that I despise with a passion. Mainly because I am tried I start my day at 5:30a and I'm going and going and going and going until he falls asleep although I will admit I'm sure (actually I know I have, but Marcus has been up with him) I have fallen asleep before him a time or five, yeah I'm human and I require sleep!!

on the left he took a nap and on the right it's going on 12:30a and he is wide awake

Professional Haircut, we received a coupon for a free haircut and seeing as those we are all never paying retail took advantage of this.  It took lots of convincing and a bribe to get him to sit in the chair. Even as we were walking back to the chair he said "can we do it in 5 more wake ups".  After his haircut he said "that wasn't so bad, can we come back in 1 more wake up?"

We visited the Fort Wayne Zoo which was amazing and for being only 2hrs away it was well worth it.  We have been to quite a few zoo's including the Indianapolis Zoo and we much preferred Fort Wayne over Indy.
ROOOAAARRRRR

One of our County Parks offers a Nature's Munchkins (or something cutesy like that, I referred to it as the class for little people when I was asking where it was held). The day we went was all about fish and the kids got to go fishing (he caught a fish too, just escaped from the hook before we got him), learn about the different fish in fresh water, make a craft and of course enjoy a snack.  Ian enjoyed it and we will look for classes to start again in the fall.

So that wraps up what fun things we have been up too.  The not so fun includes: finishing our fencing project (waiting for the chain link to go on sale), landscape around the privacy fence in pool area, preparing to replace a return line for our pool (turns out one of ours has a crack), replace floor in kitchen, and replace countertop.  I think that wraps up what is currently happening and of course there are tons of projects pending a start date.

convo's

It's been awhile since there has been a convo post.  We have lots of convo's I promise they are pretty short though as he leaves me speechless with his responses like how can I argue with that!!

One that happened this week was Little Fins Swim School is back in town and Ian was swimming with Sis and it was time to rest.  She asked him to count and he refused (I promise the child can count). So here is the convo we had in the car afterwards:
Me: Ian, why didn't you count for Sis when she asked you too?
Ian: Because that is Sis' job to count not mine.
End of convo...

Me: Ian, what are you doing?
Ian: turning the chairs around so you can't see me doing bad things

Me: Ian, you need to eat up please
Ian: but...my eyebrows hurt
Really where does he come up with this stuff???

This question happened last week< I knew it would happen however still wasn't ready:
Ian: how did the baby get in your tummy?
Me: Well, how you do you think the baby got in my tummy?
Ian: it just got there
Simple enough, thank you!!

Those are the ones that have stood out in the last week.

Since I'm...

mind you this is at night after always bigger at night than in the AM
Showing...I can't hide the fact that Ian is going to be a Big Brother and Marcus and I will be parents of 2 small people!!

And holy cow, #2 is way different than #1 as far as how I'm showing. With Ian no maternity clothes till about 20wks (helped that my work attire included yoga pants everyday). #2 in maternity by 7.5wks in order to be comfortable.

Ian goes back and forth and hasn't quite grasped the concept that the baby will be coming home to our home and living with us. As he has been playing "baby sister" since Feburary, but his baby sister lives across the street and her mom is Jack's mom (a friend of mine).  We have yet to find out the sex but of course counting down the weeks till that appt.
