In the past month you have had a sinus infection, grew out of all of your 9mos wardrobe collection and moved into your 12mos wardrobe. You have dropped down to 4 feedings of breast milk a day and eat solids 3x a day.
You are a happy happy baby pending you feel good and aren't hungry or overly tired. Your smile lights up a room, you are easy to take out and run errands with.
You have a big brother who loves you to the moon and back
A daddy who breaks the "rules" any chance he can to see you and will get you out of bed and let you share in some cake eating while getting the stink eye from me.
Little boy I love giving you your last bottle of the day as you are falling asleep in my arms and I soak in every minute and think about how blessed I am that you are in my life and how blessed I am to love on you, care for you and be your person that you turn to for your needs. Now, please slow down and keep being my baby.
I'm still amazed at how much change can happen in a human in such a short amount of time.
Another month has flown by. You have rightfully earned the name Slobber Man as you constantly slobbering!!!
I still can't get over how much change you and all babies can go through in just a short period of time.
You are without a doubt a mini version of your daddy, you are following his growth pattern and you look exactly like him. We've started introducing foods to you, and you love oatmeal, yogurt, applesauce, sweet potatoes, grilled chicken, spaghetti sauce, pizza, mixed veggies. You could careless about bananas, watermelon and strawberries though. I'm totally skipping purées with you and going straight to table foods. It's called baby led weaning and it took me to stop over thinking it (as it simply can't be as easy as making dinner for the family and tossing it on your tray too but alas it is) and getting over my fears to do it. As the fear of having another eater like your big brother is scary and my sanity can't handle it. Although you are only 7mos old and have only been at this eating solids for a short while my hopes are high. You continue to roll to get around, haven't figured out how to sit up on your own or how to crawl. Yay!!! I did do a quick at home measurement a couple wks ago and you were about 30" long. You are in 9mos, 12mos and some 18mos clothing. You are keeping me guessing as to what size/season I should be buying. You love the pool which is a good thing because if the sun is out we are out!
This was taken this week and I want to share it now because I can.
You melt my heart, I could hold you forever and let tears stream my cheeks because I'm blessed to have the chance to raise you. That I was chosen to be your mommy, such a gift I've been given.
I also can't look at you without smiling or laughing, you bring so much joy into our home.
Here's to another month of growing and changing slobber man.
Gah...my little giant you have been in this crazy world for 6months I'll save you from what happens in the real world and reflect on what's going on in your own lil' world. At your check up you tipped the scales at 18lbs 11.5oz and you measure 28" long. You are wearing 9mos clothes and 12mos pj's. You also got your first diagnosis of double ear infection which would explain why we only got 2hrs of sleep the night before your appt. You have mastered rolling in both directions and sitting you my son are now a sitter!!! Now, that your 6mos we will start letting you explore foods. Going to try a different approach than we did with Ian and we are going to follow baby lead weaning. Your noises are changing you don't squawk so much at us anymore. First tooth is working it's way into your mouth.
You love bath time, the amount of splashing you do causes quite the wet floor.
Oh my goodness hard to believe another month has gone by. You have figured out how to roll from tummy to back. You have rolled once from back to tummy. We survived your 4mos sleep regression lets not have anymore of those, ok? It was ROUGH after getting re-acquainted with my pillow for 6+hrs to only getting 4.5hrs of sleep for momma. You are a great eater and after 5mos I think I have figured out your cues, probably just in time for you to change things up on me. Squawking/yelling means you're tried if you have already been fed. When you smile you smile with your entire face, when you're happy you're happy and when you're mad you're mad!!
I can't remember the last time you took a pacifier it's been at least months. You are content with fingers. I can see 1 tooth making it's way through. You celebrated your first Easter, big brother found your eggs for you.
First trip to the play area at Notre Dame since the snow thawed.
I miss my newborn but love each and every stage of watching you grow from being a squishy human to becoming a solid human being. Love you baby boy!
Holy cow hard to believe a year ago this month you were conceived, on March 31st I took a pregnancy test that told us you were inside me messing with my hormones and energy level. At your 4 month check up you weighed in at 15lbs 5oz, 26" long with a head circumference of 16.5". You are in 9 month pj's as your feet are too long for 6 month pj's as well as your legs being to long. You are LONG, but strangely enough you have the same stats as your big brother Ian did at 4mos yet he did not have these clothing issues. You drink 6.5oz every 3-4hrs and you typically go to bed between 8-10a and will sleep until 7-8a unless you've had your shots and then like Monday night you went to bed at 9:30p and woke up at 8:30a stayed up for about 2hrs and back down for a nap. Let's see you drool a lot, you suck on your fingers (a lot), could careless about having a pacifier because well you have fingers.
Ian boy, last night (we will pretend I posted this on 12/31) was the last night you will ever be a 3yr old. Amazing how much you have changed, grown and learned in a matter of 365 days. And in the last 4wks (since becoming a big brother) you have done the most growing/changing this yr. So proud of you!! Had your 4yr check up and well dude you weighed in at 32.5lbs and 40.5" tall.
Let's do a check in of sorts:
Eating: you are still super picky and since baby brother has arrived you have gotten your way with the dinner menu more times than I would like. You are also not the quickest eater (more on that in another post).
Dressing: you dress yourself you pick out your own clothes and if it wasn't for a little bin I keep in the basement next to the dryer you would wear the same 3 shirts EVERYDAY!! Therefore I hide them so that the other 36 shirts in your drawer get a chance to be worn. You prefer jeans over cotton pants or athletic style.
End of September you broke your arm and so you started taking showers instead of baths. You go through spurts of wanting to shower or take baths all that matters is that you're clean.
And here's a video of you sharing with us what you like:
you like to have dance parties:
Love you Buddy (sorry this update took mommy forever to do)
Hey there baby boy, you sir I think have adjusted to life outside of mommy. You have from you're first day home slept in your crib. And you are just like your momma in that you are a tummy sleeper, yes that means we went against what the specialists suggest and you sleep on your tummy. This decision was made out you needing to sleep and mommy and daddy needing to sleep. You simply would scream if we laid you on your back in your bed once you have fallen asleep in our arms. With that being said since your 2mo post you have for the most part slept through the night we're talking 9-11hrs between feedings. You will often times cry in your sleep but once you have your paci or newly discovered hands in your mouth you are content sucking away. Like I mentioned you found out you have hands, you could careless about looking at them as you're more interested in trying to eat them, nomnom!
You have expressed interest in sitting and standing so your bumbo is in use as is the jumperoo.
this video was taken last week:
This video was taken last night, we went from balls of feet to touching the ground to full foot contact.
You eat every 3-4hrs, either from a bottle with mommy's milk or from the tap depends on when you wake up compared to when I did to if we are on the same eating/pumping schedule. You eat 6-7oz during each feeding. You are without a doubt a big eater, and your growing out of your clothes proves it. You wore newborn sized clothes for 4wks, and 0-3mos sized clothes for 7wks. You are already 2wks into wearing 3-6mos clothes and you are too long for some of your one piece outfits. You are without a doubt following your daddy's growing pattern. You can be a little clingy at times, I can feed you and you fall asleep and I let your sleep in my arms for a good 20-30min and transition you to your crib and BAM your awake! So back to the chair we go and start over, and sometimes 2hrs later I wake up and we are still in the same chair. It's ok I know you won't always fit in my arms like you do now, this super unfair thing happens to parents, babies grow up, it's bittersweet, it's a part of life.
